Food and Civil Supplies Minister KH Muniyappa said that the Food and Civil Supplies Department has taken bold steps to identify and cancel illegal ration cards and 13,87,639 ineligible ration cards have been found in the state.
Speaking to the media after conducting a progress review meeting of the Food and Civil Supplies Department at Vikas Soudha, he said that 13,87,639 ineligible ration cards have been found in the state. Among these, 2,75,667 who have not received ration for six months, 98,485 who are paying income tax and 10,09,478 ration cards whose income limit is higher, he said.
In the year 2023-24, 2,95,986 applications were received seeking new ration cards. Out of this there were 2,30,549 eligible applications. We have distributed 1,48,533 new ration card
