What is PM Suryagarh Yojana?
This is a plan to install solar panels on the roof of the house and collect electricity from the sun’s heat. The main aspect of this project is to generate the electricity required for domestic use, and if there is excess electricity, sell it to the government and get additional income from it.
There is an opportunity to install a solar power generation capacity unit from one kilowatt to three kilowatts. The government provides a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000 for setting up a 1-2 kW unit. In this, up to 150 units of electricity can be produced.
Further, if a 2-3 kW solar power plant is installed, a subsidy of Rs 60,000 to 78,000 will be available. In this, up to 300 units of electricity can be obtained.
Also, even if a unit with a capacity of more than three kilowatts can be installed, the subsidy from the government is limited to Rs 78,000.
How to Apply for PM Suryagarh Yojana?
- Go to official website of PM Suryaghar Yojana: pmsuryaghar.gov.in/
- Click on the ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’ button on the left side of the home page.
- Click on Registration. .
- Then select your state, district, discom company. Enter the customer account number in your electricity bill,
- click ‘Next’. Enter your mobile number, email, then click on ‘Proceed’.
- Take your ID proof, address proof documents, electric bill, house ownership certificate. It needs to be uploaded.
After you apply for rooftop solar, you need to get approval from the concerned discom company. After that the solar power plant should be installed by a registered dealer of the DISCOM. After this, submit the details of that unit and apply for net meter.
After the net meter is installed it will be verified by the discom. After this process, the commissioning certificate will be given on the portal.
After getting this certificate you have to submit your bank account details and scanned copy of canceled check in Suryagarh portal. Then within one month fixed subsidy amount will be paid into your bank account.
