A post is circulating on social media that the central government has started the Prime Minister’s Free Scooty Scheme. Under this scheme, the government is providing free scooters to all girl children.

An Instagram user shared this viral post on December 11, 2024, saying, ‘Now the government is giving free scooty to every girl child. To apply, go to khabarbazar.in site and fill the form.
Fact Check:
When TV9 Kannada investigated the veracity of this news, it was found that this video is going viral with a false claim. Central government is not running any such scheme. In fact, a similar fake news has been reported on a viral website. It’s all a fake money making scam.
To know the truth of the viral post, we searched Google with the help of relevant keywords. At this point we have not found any reliable news reports related to the post. However, we found many fake websites on Google that made these kinds of fake posts.
Taking the investigation further, we scrutinized the Khabar Bazaar website mentioned in the post. We found fake reports published on website saying how to get free laptop and mobile or free mobile recharge.
During investigation, we found a post related to the viral claim on PIB Fact Check’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. According to available information, the viral claim is fake. Government of India is not running any such scheme.
