Agriculture Marketing Minister Shivananda Patil said that the central government has given permission to purchase pulses and chickpeas at minimum support prices on the request of the state government.

Rs 7,550 per quintal for togar and Rs 5,650 for chickpea.
Togari crop in the state is grown in an area of 15.02 lakh hectares and an estimated production of 11.96 lakh metric tonnes is expected.
Purchase centers will be started in Kalaburagi, Yadagiri, Bidar, Raichur, Vijayapura, Koppal Belgaum, Bellary, Vijayanagar and Bagalkote districts. The central government has sanctioned the purchase of 3,06,150 metric tonnes on the request of the state government.
At present chickpea is grown in an area of 10.03 lakh hectares and an estimated production of 6.63 lakh metric tonnes is expected. Dharwad, Koppal, Bellary, Chitradurga, Gadag, Belgaum, Vijayapura Kalaburagi, Yadgiri,Purchase centers will be started in Yadagiri, Bidar, Bagalkote, Davangere, Chikmagalur and Raichur districts.
96,498 metric tonnes of chickpeas will be procured at support price. Agriculture Marketing Minister Sivananda Patil said that the authorities have been directed to prepare for the registration and opening of the purchase center as the central government gives permission for purchase at the support price.
