The central government’s flagship health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has recently been extended by the government to benefit senior citizens aged 70 and above.
The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial security and quality services to economically weaker senior citizens who can get the medical care they need without having any financial problem.
The government has announced that all senior citizens who are part of families already covered under the AB-PMJAY scheme will be eligible for an additional annual top-up coverage of ₹ 5 lakh.
