The cancellation of BPL cards in Karnataka has created a storm. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had already given strict instructions to the officials not to cancel the BPL cards of the eligible people for any reason.

How to officer’s will verify the BPL Card?
Officials should check the spot. Government employees, tax payers should be checked. Are card holders poor? Are there rich people? have to check the house. RD number should be verified.Document verification should be done along with location verification. Thus the food inspectors have to convert the cards one by one. Cannot shift to original position suddenly. Card should be converted by NIC software. It takes at least 10 to 15 days to change the card.
