Amidst the praise, there are also criticisms that ineligible beneficiaries are receiving funds under the scheme. To address this, the government is taking steps to identify and remove such individuals from the beneficiary list.

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme has now become a topic of discussion across India and even internationally. The government’s stance is clear: the scheme should benefit only those who are truly eligible. In this regard, efforts have begun to identify and eliminate ineligible beneficiaries from the program.

As a first step, the government is identifying individuals who have obtained ration cards illegally. Such fraudulent ration cards will soon be canceled, making them ineligible for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. Those whose BPL (Below Poverty Line) cards are revoked will also lose their entitlement to the scheme’s benefits, including the 10 kg of free rice provided under the Anna Bhagya Scheme.

To check the list of ineligible beneficiaries:

  • Visit the official website of the Karnataka Food Department at https://ahara.karnataka.gov.in/Home/EServices.
  • Click on the three-line menu.
  • Select the “e-Ration Card” option and then click on “Show Cancelled/Suspend List.”
  • Choose your district, taluk, and village to view the list of canceled ration cards.
  • The reason for the cancellation of a particular ration card will also be displayed

Good News!

While some ineligible beneficiaries may lose their payments, there’s also good news for eligible ones. Starting today (February 15, 2025), the pending payments under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme will be disbursed. In some districts, payments were delayed for the past three months, and those arrears will be cleared first.
