PM intership program started from 12th October 2024, the program was initiated with the aim of offering financial support. Young men and women undergoing internships in companies will receive 5 thousand rupees per month.
PM intership aims to completely change the workforce in India and establish a real working environment. Under this initiative, 500 companies have already partnered with the government.
This program aims to offer an annual financial aid of Rs. 66,000. A total of 1.25 lakh individuals, both male and female, will benefit from this initiative. 21 to 24 year old youths will be offered internship for 1 year.
October 25 is the last date to apply. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced this scheme to provide financial assistance of Rs 66,000 per annum in the last budget.
As such, the application submission has started and in this project, you will get an opportunity to work as an intern in many major companies including TCS, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Apollo Tyres, Titan, Divis Labs, Britannia.
Under the pilot scheme, which will cost around Rs 800 crore, companies will select candidates for the scheme from October 27 to November 7, with internships starting on December 2. Then, selected candidates will have time from November 8 to 15 to accept the offer.
Eligibility for PM intership?
Youth in the age group of 21 to 24 years should not have an annual income of more than Rs 8 lakh in 2023-24 to be eligible for the scheme. As part of the eligibility criteria, candidates enrolled in online / distance learning programs are eligible to apply.
Candidates who have passed High School, Higher Secondary Schools, have Certificate from ITI, Diploma from Polytechnic Institute or Graduate with degrees like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA and B.Pharma are eligible for this intership.
How to Apply?
One can apply for the scheme through the online portal ‘www.pminternship.mca.gov.in‘ developed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The portal will be functional from October 12 till October 25, candidates can register on the portal with minimum data and applicants. Shortlisting will be done on October 26. Then, the companies will select the candidates from October 27 to November 7. Then, the selected candidates will have time from 8th to 15th November to accept the offer.
