Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the LIC Bima Sakhi scheme in Panipat on Monday. The objective of this scheme is to make women self-reliant. Under this scheme, women will be trained to become LIC agents.
7 thousand to 5 thousand rupees will be given every month during this period. Apart from this, commission will also be given on getting the policy.
Who can apply?
Any woman who has passed 10th standard can apply for this scheme. There is also an age limit for this. Any woman between 18 years to 70 years can apply for this scheme.

Who cannot apply?
If a person is already an LIC agent or employee, his relative (husband/wife, children, parents, siblings etc.) cannot apply under this scheme.Also, no retired employee of LIC or any former agent or present agent can apply under this scheme.
How much is the salary?
Under this scheme, women are trained to become agents for three years. During this period they will also be given a small stipend ie salary. * 7 thousand rupees per month for the first year. * 6 thousand rupees per month in the second year. * In the third year, you get Rs 5,000 per month.
You will also get commission?
Apart from salary, women also get commission during training. This commission will be given on getting LIC policy. During the training, women can get some goals to get the policy.According to some media reports, women who meet the target will also get a bonus apart from salary and commission.
How many women are trained?
Under the ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’, two lakh women across the country will be trained to become LIC agents in a year. In the first phase of the project, 35 thousand women will be recruited as insurance agents. After this, another 50 thousand women will get employment under this scheme.
After completing three years of training, women can work as LIC agents. Moreover, women graduates i.e. Bima Sakhis will get an opportunity to work in the role of Development Officer in LIC.
